Super Easy, Super Find

We have been trying to keep our eye out for one of these little slide/climber combos for Emersyn. She loves her some slide time.
I really didn't want to pay full price for one because I know how fast the kids grow out of these things and I have learned a thing or two in my many many many years of parenting toddlers and I know how long their attention spans last. I laugh at myself now for all the money that we wasted on things because it was "new and shiny".
We have even had the grandparents on the look-out for one. So much to my surprise we are driving home from the library on Friday and right across the street from my house our neighbors are having a garage sale and sitting in his front yard is this little beauty. I was a little bit shocked because the neighbors kids are grown and live Georgia. But I ran right over there and promptly offered half of what he was asking for it. LOL Turns out it wasn't his and he had to check and see if the owner wanted to part with it for what I offered. Of course he took it! This is a garage sale after all. I came home and checked and these slide/climbers retail for about $120.00. I grabbed it up for $20.00. I still think I might have over paid. Ooops, let me re-phrase, I still think Grandpa Tim might have over paid, since I promptly called him up and thanked him for buying Emmy a new toy for the bargain price of $20.00. Isn't he a good sport!?

Such a cool idea! I thought I would join in! Basically you add your blog to a growing list of blogs over on this site and you can "hop" your way around to different blogs that you may have never stumbled across before.
I am a little hesitant to do this since I have been a little slow on the postly lately and this is a newer blog and really haven't posted anything all that amazing in a while, but hey, I'll give it a try.
A quick intro for those of you who are trying to get through all the blogs during your child's nap time. In bullet points for effect.
~married 13 years
~6 kids 3 boys/3 girls
~youngest two joined us from Ethiopia
~loves to read, play cards and watch a good movie
~really LOVES Margaritas
~all around taxi mom
I really love being a mom, most days, and can't imagine it any other way. I love having the freedom to enjoy my kids and usually remember to do so. And I thank my husband everyday that he makes it possible for me to be with them.
I like to joke that I am the perfect '50's mom, except for the small fact that I don't have it all together or half the time know what I am doing. Seriously, how did June Cleaver get dinner on the table at the same time every night? And is there really an answer for everything that can be tidied up in 30 minutes (with commercial breaks)?
In this house it's all MAYHEM and nothing takes less than forever. But it's my house, and I open just a peek up to you. Soooo.....

If you are just hopping in welcome!! There is more content over at my older blog Imminent Chaos. And there are a few decent posts here, and here, and here, oh and here and this one. I think......

Going Green!

Today the kids and I went out and harvested some of our veggies from the garden. I think we did pretty good for not having any idea what we were doing when we started this whole project.

Though poor Max being stuck in his stroller, so he would stop eating dirt, might not agree!

Got Milk?

In one of my moments of "diligent" parenting, Alainna took it upon herself to pour Emmy a cup of milk. At which point Emersyn took off with the lid and Alainna lost interest and walked away from a sippy cup full of milk on the table (sans lid).
I, while carefully keeping an eye on my brood, was spending just a few minutes on the computer when I heard, OHHHHHH!
Guess she was thristy and figured she didn't need no stinking lid!
